Vitamin receptors are found in gestational tissues, and Vitamin D receptors in uterine muscle could affect contractile strength. Woman’s Health published a 2012 research paper which speaks of the immunomodulator effects of Vitamin D, and how it acts as a potential protection against infections for the mother.
